Project:

We were asked to construct a residential building for retired clergymen, together with a chapel, storage rooms and garages. We designed and constructed the building for the Diocese of Bielsko-Biała and Żywiec, on the premises of a parish church in the town of Andrychów.

What we did:

The project covered alterations and extension to, and partial demolition of, a storage building to make it suitable for as a residential building. Our work included:

• preparing all the required designs, including utilities, with special emphasis on energy-efficient heating and ventilation systems, and obtaining a building permit for the project owner,
• demolition work,
• excavation work and ground reinforcement work,
• reinforced concrete work,
• wall construction,
• constructing a roof and cladding it with aluminium metal sheets,
• building a shaft for and installing a passenger lift,
• installing doors and windows, roller shutters and garage doors,
• installing thermal insulation of the exterior walls, including balconies (also recessed balconies),
• insulating the floors thermally using a Polytech thermally-insulating mortar,
• electrical work and installing a power connection to the grid,
• installing water supply and sewage systems, including connections,
• installing a gas supply system, including a gas detection system, inside the building,
• installing heating and heat recovery ventilation systems, an air conditioning system, and heat pumps with a controller,
• finishing work in the residential space: plastering, floor screeding, floor tiling (milled rock tiles), installing floor panels, tiling the walls (ceramic tiles), painting, installing bathroom/toilet appliances,
• finishing work and interior design work in the chapel,
• installing a mechanical smoke removal system for corridors and staircases,
• road-related work and landscaping work,
• managing all the work completion acceptance formalities for the project owner, which included representing the owner in the occupancy permit application process.
