A historic railway station in the town of Sosnowiec
We were asked to prepare a complete set of working designs for construction and renovation work in the building used by a railway company in the city of Sosnowiec, Poland. The project premises included the building and an adjacent parking area. It was a design-build project, and our work included:
preparing the designs
renovating the foundations of the building:
removing a 1m-wide paved strip around the building,
damp-proofing the foundation,
restoring the 1m-wide paved strip around the building;
renovating the exterior walls:
removing the outer layer material from the walls,
clearing the walls of material layers and repainting the walls after sand-blasting them,
removing moist plaster, scaling plaster and loose plaster,
disinfecting biologically damaged areas,
reinforcing the preserved plaster and mouldings,
re-plastering,
applying thin-layered plaster to regular and rusticated walls,
preserving stone/rock features of the exterior walls,
making wall mouldings (cornices, window bands),
preserving a cast sculpture,
priming and painting approx. 2,500 sq. m of exterior walls using a silicate paint,
replacing doors,
renovating windows in the attic, and
replacing gutters and downpipes.
Indoor work:
installing technical platforms in the attic,
installing a mechanical ventilation system in the cellar,
renovating the roof:
renovating individual parts of the roof trusswork
replacing the roof decking,
Replacing the roof cladding over approx. 1,300 sq. m;
rebuilding and re-plastering the chimneys,
areas around the building:
paving work (concrete paving bricks)

green space landscaping
